PagBrasil will be present and speak at this year’s BayBrazil conference, as well as being a sponsor, with the motto ‘Brazil in the 21st Century.’
This annual conference, held in Palo Alto, USA, is the premier event hosted by BayBrazil, a US-based organization that aims to bring Silicon Valley and Brazil closer together.
On Aug 22nd, the 8th edition of the event will have entrepreneurs, investors, and private-sector leaders discuss science, technology, and innovation. They will take a deep dive into the latest tech trends and business models for the Brazilian market. Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America and the 4th largest internet market globally, with 150 million internet users out of a total population of about 210 million.
According to eMarketer, the country represents about 42% of all B2C e-commerce in Latin America. Despite the adverse economic scenario of the past years, Brazil’s e-commerce market continues to show a positive growth trend, and ended 2018 with an increase of 12% in revenue, with 58 million e-consumers spending BRL 53.2 billion on the web. With a predicted online retail growth of 16% in 2019 and a total of BRL 61.2 billion in sales, Brazil remains one of the outstanding opportunities for online retailers in Latin America and the world.
Our CEO, Ralf Germer, will take part in a panel discussion about payments, new technologies, and digital transformation. Big names in the industry are expected at the event, like Peter Norvig, Director of Research at Google, Chris Tsakalakis, CEO of Vivino and Daniela Jorge, Global VP, Design & Research at PayPal.
