Valid from January 2026.
To ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the use of PagBrasil’s Services for certain Products and Services may be restricted or prohibited. Such determination may be based on, without limitation, applicable legislation, regulatory requirements imposed by other participants of the Brazilian Payment System, internal risk assessments, and potential reputational, legal, or financial impacts on PagBrasil. The lists set forth below may be amended by PagBrasil at any time, at its sole discretion.
Restricted Products and Services
The issuance, receipt, or processing of payments related to the sale or provision of the following Products and Services is restricted and subject to PagBrasil’s prior written approval, to be formalized through an amendment to the Agreement:
- Clairvoyance services
- Registered charity services
- Exchangeable virtual currencies and any tradable financial assets
- Gift cards
- Legal collections arising from legal services
- File sharing and cloud storage services
- Game credentials or purchase of virtual game currency
- Online auction services
- Insurance products and services
PagBrasil may require the Merchant to submit additional documentation for the purpose of evaluating and approving any restricted Product or Service. Any approval granted by PagBrasil shall not be construed as a declaration of legality or regulatory compliance of the Merchant’s Products or Services. The Merchant remains solely and fully responsible for ensuring that its Products and Services comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and contractual provisions.
Prohibited Products and Services
It is strictly prohibited to sell, supply, issue, or receive payments for any Product or Service falling under the categories listed below. Any breach of this prohibition shall constitute a material violation of the Agreement and may result in the application of penalties and remedies provided therein:
- Weapons or explosive devices
- Toxic material
- Flammable or radioactive materials
- Pornographic content
- Sexual services
- Identity documents
- Counterfeit, unauthorized, or illicit products or services
- Products or services that infringe copyrights, trademarks, patents, and other intellectual property rights
- Gambling or betting services
- Robbed, stolen, smuggled, counterfeit, adulterated, or replicated products or services
- Pyramid schemes and multi-level marketing
- Products or services that encourage or facilitate illegal activities
- Illegal sale of tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, nutritional supplements, pharmaceuticals, or medications
- Currency exchange services
- Financing of political campaigns, donations to or from politicians, or other political causes
- Religious institutions
- Any other illegal products or services
