In November, Pix completes three years. Check out the numbers and what’s to come for 2024!

On the 16th, Pix completed three years since its launch – reaching an undeniable success with 66,5 billion transactions and over 158 million users.

Pix is a free, instant, and easy-to-use payment method – making it more appealing than cash, especially among the highly digitalized and tech-savvy Brazilian population. Over 80% of Brazilians above the age of 10 have access to the internet. This, aligned with the over 160 million smartphone users, fostered the adoption of the payment method.

According to the president of the Central Bank of Brazil, Roberto Campos Neto, Pix boosted Brazilian banking and, at the same time, contributed to the financial inclusion of informal workers. According to a Central Bank report, in 2022, 82% of the Brazilian population already had access to banking services, compared to 57% in 2017.
