Brazil, One of the Biggest E-Sales Opportunity in the World
Taking the entire Spanish and Portuguese speaking world as a basis (including Spain and Portugal), Brazil is still by far the biggest market with 43% e-sales share, followed by Spain with 21% and Mexico with 10%.
51 million e-consumers in Brazil spent more than US$ 13 billion on the web in 2013. Brazil's e-commerce market ended 2013 with a strong growth of 29% and BRL 31 billion in sales according to ABComm (the Brazilian Association of Electronic Commerce).
With a predicted online retail growth of 27% in 2014, Brazil will continue being one of the outstanding opportunities for online retailers in Latin America and the world. Data published by the Brazilian business magazine Exame predicts that Brazil will become the 4th biggest online sales market in the world by 2016. Ahead of Germany by then, only China, the USA and Japan will have more online sales than Brazil.
